Treatment

For most people with occasional or mild dry eye symptoms, it’s enough to regularly use over-the-counter eyedrops (artificial tears). If your symptoms are persistent and more serious, you have other options. What you do depends on what’s causing your dry eyes.

Some treatments focus on reversing or managing a condition or factor that’s causing your dry eyes. Other treatments can improve your tear quality or stop your tears from quickly draining away from your eyes.

Medications

Drugs to reduce eyelid inflammation.
Eyedrops to control cornea inflammation.
Eye inserts that work like artificial tears.
Tear-stimulating drugs.
Eyedrops made from your own blood.

Other procedures

Closing your tear ducts to reduce tear loss.
Using special contact lenses.
Unblocking oil glands.
Using light therapy and eyelid massage.

Graduated in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Practiced in southern Florida before he moved to central Ohio. He regularly manages a wide range of ocular conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, red eyes, & more

KARLA LOPEZOptometric Technician

Karla is the friendly face you will be greeted by when you check-in for your eye exam. She schedules the appointments and performed pre-testing before you see one of our doctors. Karla is originally from Los Angeles California. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family.
